Protective Services is an independent specialised security organisation and risk management consultancy that performs in any environment. We provide our clients with a seamless security solution including an expert threat analysis and practical risk management strategies.

Our security professionals are selected exclusively from the police and military; the unique skill set of our people allows us to confidently provide a range of security services beyond the capability of a typical security guard company. 

Protective Services is a proudly 100% New Zealand owned licensed security operator with decades of experience providing event security personnel, trained security guards, personal protection officers (internationally experienced bodyguards), risk management consultants and security managers. 

Over the past decade, our security professionals have effectively provided personal protection, security and risk management solutions in global high-risk environments for various corporate clients, dignitaries, entertainers, international sports teams and private individuals. 

Protective Services (A Division of The Neill Group) is owned and operated by Dion Neill, a former member of the New Zealand Defence Forces and Emergency Services. Dion is a foundation member of the Institute of Professional Investigators (NZIPI) and was board certified as a fraud examiner.

Dion has successfully achieved a number of internationally recognised certifications including a Diploma of Security and Risk Management (Australia) and a Certificate in Investigation Skills awarded by the Royal New Zealand Police College.

Dion has been widely recognised for his contribution to raising the level of professionalism within the New Zealand security industry, he provides regular commentary to the media on industry related matters and featured on the popular television New Zealand series, ‘Private Investigators’ and television feature regarding protecting high profile people in New Zealand.

Dion has spent a number of years conducting covert surveillance and managing undercover operations with a focus on fraud and theft investigations; he was one of the first licensed private investigators in New Zealand to carry out investigation assignments for the ACC.

In 1989, Dion provided expert witness evidence in the High Court of New Zealand as a member of a team investigating a complex theft operation resulting in the successful prosecution of over 25 offenders.

Dion Neill has over 30 years of international operational experience providing a broad range of private investigation, risk management, specialised security, asset recovery and para-legal support services.

Dion’s decades of industry experience and specialised skill set are used by clients for a variety of investigation and security assignments, he has a notable track record of successfully recovering hidden assets and serving evasive defendants with court proceedings.

The Neill Group is a privately owned and operated business, incorporating: Accredited Process Servers, Nationwide Recoveries and Protective Services. The Neill Group is the trading name for Dion Neill and the Neill Consulting Group. All contracted agents and associates are licensed to ensure compliance with the Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act 2010.

Operational Briefs

The operational brief covers all relevant policies, procedures and relevant safety issues and is a combination of both the written and verbal expectations of our client. It also contains internal information specific to each of our people. Our people must acknowledge and confirm their understanding of the requirements of every assignment prior to deployment.

Confidentiality

Our people must sign a confidentiality agreement prior to deployment on any assignment. Trust is an important element of our relationships therefore our people understand the seriousness of breaching this agreement. Our people are custom in working within confidential environments and respect the privacy of our clients.

Government Licensing

Dion Neill trading as The Neill Group (incorporating: Protective Services, Accredited Process Servers and Nationwide Recoveries) are licensed by the Ministry of Justice in New Zealand as Private Investigators, Security Consultants, Crowd Controllers, Personal Security Guards, Property Security Guards, Repossession Agents and Confidential Document Destruction Agents.

The Neill Group complies with the requirements of the New Zealand Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act 2010 governed by the Ministry of Justice (Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority). All contracted agents and associates are licensed to ensure compliance with the New Zealand Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act 2010 and other related industry legislation.
