Protective Services was established by security and private investigation licence holder, Dion Neill who has over three decades of international security, risk management and private investigation experience. Dion is a former member of the New Zealand emergency services and defence forces, he is a first responder and licensed as a private investigator, security specialist and risk management consultant.

Dion Neill only deploys the highest calibre security and risk management professionals to provide an exceptional level of private security, risk management and personal protection. The security industry is vast, only qualified and highly skilled security professionals are capable to take responsibility for the personal protection of a person, their family and their assets. Protective Services is widely recognised as a leader in this field.

Dion Neill commenced his career in the New Zealand private security and investigation industry in 1987. Dion was one of the original directors of Wellington Investigations Limited and has spent over three decades contracting to a number of security and private investigation company’s throughout New Zealand and worldwide.

In the late 1980’s, Dion was a member of a team employed to investigate a major organised theft syndicate operating within a national business over several years. As a result of Dion’s evidence, over 20 offenders were convicted in the High Court of New Zealand (Dion survived cross examination by the late Mike Bungay QC).

Dion was one of the first licensed private investigators in New Zealand to carry out investigation assignments for the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC), New Zealand’s government operated accident and injury insurance agency.

In the late 1990’s, Dion carried out personal protection for international celebrities, corporate executives, high profile individuals and major sports teams including a major New Zealand sports team playing at the world games in Durban, South Africa.

In 2002, Dion featured in the popular television series, ‘Private Investigators’ and in 2009, Dion was interviewed on the Television New Zealand Breakfast Show programme regarding protecting high-profile people in New Zealand.

The Neill Group and Protective Services are the trading names of Dion Neill. Dion is currently licensed by the Department of Justice – Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority as a private investigator, security consultant, repossession agent, personal security guard, property security guard, crowd controller and confidential document destruction agent.

The Neill Group only engages agents and associates (contractors) for private investigation, security and repossession assignments who hold a current certificate of approval or licence issued by the Department of Justice – Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority to ensure compliance with the Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act 2010.
